Most Christmas light set of this age used carbon filament lamps. The lamps where moulded to form shapes such as fruit or, oriental lanterns, Santas, candle flames or pine cones. Generally a set of lights would have a theme for example fruit or Chinese lanterns. As lamps burned out they would be not necessarily be replaced with a lamp of the same style or theme as each manufacturer made their own designs which where not available indefinitely.
